Shobha Dasari claimed the Pearland ISD spelling bee championship

Dasari spells way to victory for third year in district bee

Spelling "bryophyte," Sablatura Middle School's Shobha Dasari claimed the Pearland ISD spelling bee championship for the third year in a row Feb. 5.

Dasari will represent Pearland ISD March 23 at the Houston PBS Spelling Bee, the qualifying competition for the Scripps National Spelling Bee.

Dasari's younger brother, Lawhon Elementary's Shourav Dasari, won second place in the district bee for the second year in a row, while Silvercrest Elementary's Jacqueline Chin won third.
